Description: Beatrix is responsible for cleaning the covenant — not the whole covenant, but the formal covenant. The grogs are responsible for their own quarters. (And, thank goodness, she's not expected or allowed into the sanctums of the magi!)
When she first came to the covenant, Beatrix found that her retiring presence often led to the highfolk treating her as if she wasn't there. While this is an excellent thing for a servant, she became frightened that she might overhear something she oughtn't and be punished for it, so she developed a habit of feigning clumsiness. Alas, like many habits that are first for show, the clumsiness has become ingrained, and Beatrix habitually drops things and trips over things in the presence of those of higher station. She is no longer allowed to clean breakable things. (This was supposed to be a stopgap measure until the magi could get around to making the glass and ceramic pieces unbreakable, but no-one ever seemed to get around to it…)
Beatrix is a favorite among her fellow grogs, able to tell stories and sing comic songs.
