Description: Geoffrey is a wandering clerk, in minor orders, without any particular means of support. He had some education at Oxford, but his funds ran out far before he could aspire to become a Magister in Artibus. He has been slowly making his way north, taking odd jobs as a clerk when they are offered. He hopes that the opportunity for work will increase as he moves northward, away from the concentration of his brethren in the cities of the south. Since he is rather sickly, progress has been slow.
Geoffrey comes off as charming initially, but the listener will slowly come to realize that this is a rather desperate charm, masking his difficult situation and low opinion of himself.
